LIVING WITHOUT PURPOSE

I took a walk down to a mechanic shop and noticed so many tools, equipment and other items which I cannot classify. The whole place to me was unkept and I felt like I should clean it up and throw away some supposed scraps I saw. While still in the thought, I took one scrap and down it went into the pit… “Stop!!! Who asked you to throw it away, infact go and get it out of the pit was the polite instruction I got” But why I asked. What you just discarded is often used to drain engine oil when working on the engine. A quick apology was made and a lesson learnt. Every creation of God is made with a purpose and plan in mind. No being is created purposeless and so living a life without purpose is dangerous. Let’s see few effects of living a life without purpose.

• Unfulfilled Life/Destiny: When you live a life without purpose, you cannot fulfil destiny thus an unfulfilled life is inevitable because you have failed to carry out your assignment on earth. Just like one of the tool in the mechanic shop, if it is not used it will be discarded. This is a very dangerous effect on any being who live without purpose.

• No impart after you depart: Very many times we notice that after the death of a man/woman for years we still remember them because of the impart they have created while still alive. We still remember Jesus today because he fulfilled purpose while on earth and made great imparts. Once you live a purposeless life and die without an impart, you go just like that. The song writer said “You will be remembered by what you have done” meaning the fulfilled purpose and impart created will make people remember you after you depart.

• You become a liability to others: Every being that is existing without purpose becomes a liability to others because you do not add to the society instead you suck and drain the society and others around you. Imagine a man at age 45 still living with the parents and not working to earn a living, such a man becomes a liability to the family.

• You add to the pains of the earth: Once you become a liability to others the unseen evidence of the liability is pains added to the people around you because when they are struggling to move forward, you pull them down and imagine when they fall and get injured what will happen. Living a life without purpose is very dangerous.

• No Future: I met a young man who said “Man die go because we are just like animals…” This is a big lie because before creation (Genesis 1:26-Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.") and after the creation story man was given an instruction (purpose) [Genesis 1:28-God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground"]. Man was created with a purpose and if this purpose is not activated then there is no future for such a being as living a careless life is inevitable. No wonder we have suicide bombers because they feel no need to live or no purpose for the existence of any being.
Finally, if any man must remain relevant and useful on earth and in eternity he/she must live a life of purpose and fulfill it for the dangers thereof are not sweet. Avoid a purposeless life today, live with purpose.
